TWO WEEK COURSE (9 days) (Manchester, NH) Currently, we are offering our two week course, designed for the beginner estimator. It is assumed that students who attend this course may or may not be familiar with construction estimating. The purpose of this course is to teach construction estimating from the ground up. A knowledge of basic math, the ability to read and write in English, common sense and a desire to learn are the typical prerequisites for this course.

This course is designed to help you read construction drawings, details and specifications, assemble the correct facts and to apply special formulas to improve your estimating skills on medium to large size projects. In the time span of two weeks, you will learn how to organize procedures to reduce errors and save time. You will learn how to spot unusual job requirements, and thus avoid the bad jobs.You will learn how to prepare estimates that can be adjusted to variable economic conditions and geographical areas.

Specific course content includes:

The quantity takeoff
Includes systematic take-off methods and sequence color coding.

Extending the estimate
This includes general rules and quantity summary methods.

Pricing the estimate
Includes general rules, sources of price information, production rates that you can put into practice immediately, and accurate summary and unit pricing using man days.

Estimating summary
Covers general rules used by many successful contractors. Bids, Adds, Deducts, Escalation, and construction procedures on projects that require special scrutiny.

54 HOUR LIVE ONLINE CLASS
This course is comparable to our Two Week Course (Manchester, NH). and runs for 18 consecutive workdays (Monday thru Friday), 3 hours per day. It is conducted live online (our computer to your computer).

30 HOUR LIVE ONLINE CLASS
This is a somewhat shorter length class than our other two classes and runs for 10 days, 3 hours per day...your choice, morning or afternoons. this is a popular class for students who are familiar with blueprint reading.

Our live online courses include an almost identical method of teaching and among the benefits benefits are no airfare or transportation costs and no meals or lodging expenses!

All courses are taught while using Quick Bid and OST (On Screen Takeoff) and we do sell this software if you are interested. While we DO recommend purchasing this software it is NOT necessary to have this software installed on your computer as you will either be using school supplied computers (Machester, NH Class) or your instructor will be sharing his screen with you (Live Online Class).
